{"id":1328,"date":"2017-07-12T23:00:59","date_gmt":"2017-07-12T22:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.viadanse.com\/?post_type=spectacle&#038;p=1328"},"modified":"2017-07-13T00:18:39","modified_gmt":"2017-07-12T23:18:39","slug":"wasla-ce-qui-relie-solo","status":"publish","type":"spectacle","link":"https:\/\/www.viadanse.com\/en\/spectacle\/wasla-ce-qui-relie-solo\/","title":{"rendered":"Wasla (solo), Ce qui relie&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/1&#8243;][tiret_separation][vc_column_text]The eighth Biennale de danse de Lyon has chosen the Mediterranean as its theme and has commissioned a new work from the Compagnie Fattoumi-Lamoureux.<br \/>\nWasla is a work for eight dancers from which the solo of H\u00e9la Fattoumi is excerpted.<br \/>\nTo create <em>Wasla (solo),<\/em> H\u00e9la Fattoumi went back to her Tunisian roots. She was invited to rehearse in Tunis and found in the center of the m\u00e9dina, a space that was not a dance studio, but which had a wood floor and blue and white walls in which there was a small alcove.<br \/>\nThe same alcove was recreated onstage, a setting resembling an open jewelry box. From its shallow curve cradling the dancer\u2019s back,a myriad of coiling shapes emerge, enveloping and revealing a body as its own chrysalis. H\u00e9la Fattoumi slithers from side to side of the alcove; when she does peel herself away, we see layers of her vanished footprints, tracings of her body. Emerging from her alcove and shelter, she enters a troubled, sensual space where a diaphanous spasm transfixes and then changes her face, her serpentine hands insinuating desire into the most secret places in her body.
